- Alvina Johnson, 88, of Clearbrook, Minnesota died on Saturday, October 6, 2012 at her home in Clearbrook, Minnesota
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 11, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Clearbrook, MN with Reverend Bob Kirchman officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be at Greenwood Cemetery in Clearbrook, MN. The Cease Family Funeral Home of Bagley assisted with the arrangements.
Alvina was born November 27, 1923 in Queen Township, Fosston, Minnesota the daughter to Hans and Gusta (Larson) Nelson. She grew up and attended a country school in Greenwood Township. Alvina married George Johnson on February 28, 1942 at Fosston, MN. George passed away on July 28, 2007. Alvina was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Clearbrook, MN. She was a Fire Warden with her husband for over 25 years, a Sunday school teacher at Greenwood Church, a member of the ELCA and she volunteered at the Good Samaritan Center in Clearbrook.
Alvina enjoyed gardening, camping, fishing, traveling, spending time with family and visiting with friends. She especially loved spending time with grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is survived by her son – Dennis (Carole) Johnson of Gonvick, MN Daughters – Linda (Roger "Terry) Althoff of Spring Lake Park, MN Vicki (Lyle) Hanson of Clearbrook, MN Lori (Wayne) Wolden of Wadena, MN 11 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter - Diane Marion Johnson, 3 brothers – Wilfred, Ernest and Roy, 5 sisters – Clara, Myrtle, Amy, Millie & Sylvia [1]
