- Selmer Nelson 1895-1986
Selmer A. Nelson, 90, died Wednesday, April 16 at the Good Samaritan Center, Clearbrook, where he had lived since 1975.
Funeral services were held Saturday at the Good Samaritan Center Chapel in Clearbrook with Rev. Paul Knutson officiating. Interment was in Greenwood Lutheran Cemetery at Clearbrook under the direction of the Cease Funeral Home of Bagley. Military honors provided by the Clearbrook American Legion.
Mr. nelson was born September 8, 1895 at Hitterdahl to Jacob and Guri Nelson. He came to Clearwater County as a young boy when the family homesteaded in Greenwood Township north of Clearbrook. His marriage to Judith Christianson took place at Gonvick, June 7, 1921. they lived in Montana in 1929 and 1930 and in Clearwater County since. he was a veteran of World War I, a 60 year member of the Clearbrook American Legion and a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church.
He is survived by a son, Lyle, Fort Meyers, Florida; eight grandchildren; several great grandchildren; a half brother, Lenny Nelson, Gonvick; and a half sister, Adna Westby, Minneapolis.
He was preceded in death by his wife in 1971, and by a son, a brother and two sisters. [4]
