- Ervin Olson 1914-1974
Ervin P. "E.V" Olson died at Clearwater County Memorial Hospital early Satuday. Death came as a result of an illness that had kept him from home for much of the past two months. He was admitted to the hospital Friday, February 1, and. although quite ill, his death came suddenly and unexpectedly.
"E.V." was born July 26, 1914, at Bagley, a son of Gilbert and Othelia and has made his home here since. He was a graduate of Bagley High School, Class of 1932 and furthered his education by attending Northern Business School at Bemidji in 1933. his marriage to Doris Falkum took place at Grand Forks on December 23, 1936. Two Children were born to them: Paul now living at Willmar; and Marilyn (Mrs. John W. Diggs) of Pueblo, Colorado. his wife and children survive him.
During his life "E.V" served the Bagley community in many capacities. He started as a clerk in his father's grocery store in 1932 but since had been in the grocery business as a partner with his brother Gilmer and also owned a clothing store for a few years. In years he has owned and operated the King Koin Laundry and Car wash; he had been manager of Clearwater County Memorial Hospital and to the present was business manager of the Clearwater Clinic.
A faithful community man, Olson had served on most civic organizations including Village council, Bagley Fire department church council, Bagley Civic & Commerce Association, County fair Board, Church Choir and many other local activities.
Besides his wife and two children, other survivors are: a brother, Gilmer of Bagley.
three sisters miss Agnes Olson of Sun City, Arizona, Mrs. Viloa Nelson of Long Mont. Colorado, Mrs. Violet Bjorklund of Henning, Minnesota; three grandchildren, Kim, Stephen, and Tommy.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, February 5, at 3 the Faith Lutheran Church of Bagley. The Rev. M.C. Davig officiated with burial in the Bagley City Cemetery under the direction of the Cease Funeral Home of Bagley. Music was provided by Ed Rasmussen, organist and the Faith Lutheran Church choir. [2]
