- Ora Bertha Anna Erickson, age 95 of Westbrook, passed away Sunday, July 5, 2009 at the Westbrook Good Samaritan Center in Westbrook.
Funeral services were held at Old Westbrook Lutheran Church.
Interment is in Old Westbrook Lutheran Cemetery.
Ora Bertha Anna Krengel was born April 25, 1914 in Waterbury Township, Redwood County, Minnesota to August and Hattie (Jaeger) Krengel. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. Ora graduated from Lamberton High School in 1932 as Valedictorian of her class, and then continued to Normal Teacher's Training in Lamberton for two years. Ora then went on to Mankato State College; after which she taught in country schools for several years. She belonged to a Garden Club and was active in Ladies' Aid. She was an excellent cook, enjoyed flowers and gardening, reading, and crocheting. Ora especially loved doing puzzles with her good friend Dorothy.
Ora is survived by her children: Sharon (Vern) Grams of Storden, Dennis Erickson of Westbrook, Sandra Cambronne of Apple Valley, Shirleen (John) Sylvester of St. Peter, and Sharilyn (Doug) Thompson of Richfield; 8 grandchildren: Erin (Matt) Asche, Henry & David Erickson, Cory (Jen) Cambronne, Carla (Keith Angelman) Cambronne , Dan (Laura) Sylvester, Jennifer (Ryan) Britz, Travis (Nicole) Thompson; 8 great-grandchildren: Avery & Ayden Asche, Andy, Ashley, and Anthony Cambronne, Cadence Angelman, Cullen Britz, and Will Sylvester; sisters: Lorraine Sudduth of California, and Verona (Robert) Knakmuhs of Walnut Grove; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Truman; and son-in-law Dean Cambronne. [2]
