- Bernice Lottie (Kildahl) Bergquist, 72, Carol Stream, Ill., died July 8, 2006.
She was born May 22, 1934, to Even and Viola (Fleith) Kildahl. She grew up on a small family-owned dairy farm in Kennan. She attended high school in Phillips where she met her future husband, Larry Bergquist. After graduating high school in 1951, she and Larry both moved to the west suburbs of Chicago to work and were married on May 1, 1954. In 1955 they moved to West Chicago where they happily spent 15 years raising their family of five children. She was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church and Grade School in West Chicago. She and Larry started their own successful landscaping business, Bergquist Tree Experts, and she kept all the books and payroll for the business at home while tending to the needs of her family. After the untimely death of her husband in 1969, she worked several office jobs, beginning with the Regional Boy Scouts office in Wheaton, Ill. She was an active force in the lives of her entire family, always reinforced positive family vaules, spiritual commitment and achievement in whatever they pursued in life.
